The Medieval Combat Society pride themselves on authentic medieval encampment setting with show and tell displays and arena based demonstrations. We are now one of the longest running societies having engaged in re-enactment events within the UK for the past four and a half decades. In recent years, we have expanded our operations to include occasional overseas performances, such as those held in Crécy-en-Ponthieu, France. |
We offer our clients a comprehensive medieval event with authentic dress from around the time of the Batte of Crecy in the 1400’s, a demonstration arena where we offer knights, archery and dance displays, an authentic medieval encampment featuring multiple tents, knight’s banners and bunting, set off by a range of show and tell displays that illuminate various aspects of medieval life from cooking to medicine. |
The demonstrations in the main arena, each lasting approximately 30 to 45 minutes, showcase archery, combat, and dance. Outside of this area, we have a range of side displays to entertain visitors which could include brass rubbing, have a go archery or squire training dependant on members available and your requirements. All members are fully attired in authentic costumes that embody the diverse elements of medieval fashion and nobility with the odd peasant and archer lurking in the side-lines.
Last year, we performed at various venues, including castles, museums, large-scale battle re-enactments, care homes, and banquets. The Medieval Combat Society is versatile and can cater to both large-scale events as well as intimate events where you may want just a couple of members present.
