Joining the MCS

Thank you for your interest in joining the MCS.

Once you have contacted us, you will be invited to a training session to meet other members and to have a look at what we do so you can see if it is what you would ike to get involved with. Get in touch on our Facebook page and we will get back to you ASAP.

The Medieval Combat Society welcomes new members from all walks of life, ages, nationalities and genders who wish to take up the re-enactment hobby. There are a wide variety of roles that can be taken from the humble commoner, up to the lords and ladies of court, fighting squires and knights to highly skilled archers.

The Society has members across England and Wales and we train regually over the winter months. During the 'show season' (roughly April - September) we present and attend shows and other events across the UK and occasionally overseas. We are happy to provide loan equipment to help people get started and jumping in at the deep end is often the best way to get involved.

We all love our pets and the good news is that although some events don't allow dogs, they are sometimes allowed if they are part of your character. So please feel free to bring your dogs to events, just check out the warning orders sent to you beforehand to see if you can. We also have an in-house dog sitter when you really cannot take them on site.

Join us as a perspective member to see what we do .
