"The Ladies of the MCS"

Lady Beatrice Fitzgerald (nee Stafford) (1340 - 1415)

Countess of Desmond

Lady Beatrice attends in the company of her father, Sir Ralph de Stafford, her brother, Sir William Stafford and her mother, Lady Margaret Audley.

As was common at that time, a woman's role was to be a good daughter and then a good wife. Lady Beatrice fulfilled this role admirably. Her 3 husbands were firstly, in 1350, Maurice FitzGerald, 2nd Earl of Desmond (d. June 1358); married secondly, Thomas de Ros, 4th Baron de Ros, of Helmsley; married thirdly to Sir Richard Burley.
